Basement club, Kwara United, has unveiled Abubakar Bala as their new manager, at the Conference Room, Indoor Hall, Kwara Stadium complex Ilorin on Wednesday.
Bala was confirmed as the new technical adviser late on Tuesday, according to a statement by the club.
“Abubakar Bala has been appointed as the new technical adviser of Kwara United FC,” the club said.
The former Niger Tornadoes coach replaces John Obuh, who was sacked just few days ago by the Harmony Warriors.
Obuh was sacked after the Ilorin based side dropped more points, following a 1-1 draw at home against El-Kanemi Warriors last weekend.
This led to a meeting where management of the club ultimately reached a decision to let the former national u-20 handler go, to ‘move the club forward’.
Bala comes with a wealth of experience, but helping United escape relegation come end of the season will be his biggest test yet.
Kwara United have only won three of their 12 games so far this season, losing seven with the remaining two ending in draws.
This means they remain deeply rooted to the bottom of the table, on 11points, but are still just two points away of safety.
Bala’s first game in charge of the Harmony Warriors will be a tricky one, they host second place Kano Pillars on Sunday.
