Nigeria’s female cricket team, the Yellow Greens, lost by 10 wickets to Zimbabwe in their last group match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier on Wednesday, www.aclsports.com reports.

The Yellow Greens’ captain, Peculiar Agboya, won the toss and elected to bat, but Nigeria were bowled out for 90 in 19.5 overs. Sarah Etim top-scored with 25 off 22 balls, while Oseyande Omonkhobhio added 16 and Agboya chipped in with 12. Zimbabwe’s Josephine Nkomo stole the show with the ball, claiming 5 for 6 in her four overs.

In reply, Zimbabwe cruised to their target in 14.2 overs without losing a wicket. Openers Kelis Ndhlovu (44) and Modester Mupachikwa (36) shared an unbroken 93-run stand to seal a dominant victory.

The result meant Zimbabwe topped Group A with six points, followed by Namibia on four. Nigeria finished third with two points, while Sierra Leone failed to register a win. Zimbabwe and Namibia advanced to the semi-finals.

In the last-four fixtures, Zimbabwe will face Uganda, while Namibia take on Tanzania. The two winners will progress to the global qualifier in Nepal next January.
