Nigeria U17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, have been drawn in Group B alongside Ghana, Togo and Niger for the 2026 WAFU B U17 Girls Cup in Côte d’Ivoire, www.aclsports.com reports.
The sub-regional tournament is scheduled to run from 15 to 28 September 2026 in Côte d’Ivoire, with the draw conducted on Thursday at the Stade du 04 Août in Ouagadougou.
Nigeria were finalists in the inaugural edition in 2024, losing to Ghana on penalties after a 2-2 draw. They will face the same opponents again in the group stage.
Togo and Niger complete the line-up, while hosts Côte d’Ivoire were placed in Group A alongside Burkina Faso and Benin.
For the Flamingos, the tournament will provide valuable preparation ahead of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled to take place from 17 October to 7 November 2026.
