National Champion, Favour Agboro says he is ready to represent Nigeria at the 2019 All Africa Games in the weightlifting event.

Agboro won three gold medals in the snatch, clean and jerk as well as total in the men’s 61kg for Niger state at the National Sports Festival.

He told www.aclsports.com that he is happy to finally become a champion in the senior category.

“Winning three gold medals for Niger state means a lot to me; I want to remain a champion and tell Nigeria that am ready for 2019 All Africa games”.

Agboro who hails from Ughelli in Delta state disclosed how he started his career in weightlifting.

Agboro said, “I started weightlifting in 2014 at Ado Ekiti and the man who motivated me to lift is Gbenga Orupuno. After a while, Orupuno handed me to my first coach Yinka Omoba who taught me the rudiments of weightlifting. My present coach is Segun Ajayi who works with Niger state”.

The 12th All African Games will take place from 23 August to 3 September 2019 in Rabat, Morocco.
