Volleyball: Nigeria, others for Africa Olympic qualifiers

Nigeria female volleyball team are registered for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games qualifiers which will feature a two phase qualifiers to start later in the year.

According to Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB), three national teams from both genders confirmed their participation in the event ahead of the deadline of February 28th.

Nigeria, Cameroon and Kenya have registered for the women’s tournaments while Egypt, Tunisia and Cameroon  are registered for the men’s qualifiers.

CAVB told www.aclsports.com that the first phase for the qualification will be held at the continental zones in November and December 2019, while the finals will be organised in January 2020 to determine the African representatives in the Olympic Games.

Egypt represented Africa in the men’s event in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, with Cameroon representing in the women.
