Volleyball: Libero Jummai Bitrus joins CNS Spikers

Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers have signed Libero, Jummai Bitrus for the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League season.

Jummai Bitrus who is the number 1 Libero in the national women’s senior team won the best Libero at the 2022 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League in Akure.

The versatile Libero attended the 2022 and 2023 African Club Championship held in Tunisia.

The lanky forward who was earlier being monitored by three other volleyball clubs has now chosen to join the CNS Spikers in Abuja.

Bitrus, who had a great time at NSCDC women’s VC, is expected to add more creativity and experience to the newly promoted club.

In an exclusive interview with www.aclsports.com, Jummai Bitrus said she is ready to add value to the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers women’s volleyball team.

Bitrus believes that CNS Spikers has what it takes to contend with other teams in the 2023 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

She said, “I am happy to join one of the fastest growing volleyball clubs in Africa. In the last three years, the CNS Spikers women’s team have attended the African Volleyball Club Championship twice and have gathered more experience than any other team in the Nigeria Volleyball League.

“I am coming to add more value to the team; I was with the CNS Spikers at the 2023 Africa Volleyball Club Championship and and I want to assure you that we are going to make a huge statement in this year’s volleyball league”.

Bitrus promised to give her best on the court and justify her inclusion in the squad.

Before joining CNS Spikers, Jummai Bitrus has played for Adamawa Queens, Nigeria Immigration Service and NSCDC.

Bitrus won the Nigeria Volleyball Premier League title with NSCDC in 2019 and 2021 as well as the Super Cup in 2020.
