The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai has promises to support COAS Spikers teams (men and women) ahead of the 2020 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League.

Buratai said the Nigeria Army is ensuring that the players get more kits to train as well as sports equipment to train and compete against the best teams in the league.

He said, “The Nigeria Army is giving the men and women volleyball teams the necessary support to participate in local and international competitions.

“We will continue to encourage them and this is very important because the Army is getting more kits for them for them to train and be able to become more professional”.

Buratai attributed the success recorded by the Army in the Nigeria boxing to discipline and hard work.

He said, “There is no secret hidden by the Nigeria Army when it comes to taking over the Nigeria Boxing Federation team. The secret is simply training and discipline.

“The military is a professional military and we take physical training very important. If the solider is not physically fit, then he is not fit to be in service.

“Be assured that we will participate in all physical activities to be able to develop the endurance and discipline that is required; you have know that a healthy mind is a health body”
