V/Ball U21 AFCON: Nigeria stage comeback against Cameroon

Nigeria recovered from a 2-0 deficit to beat Cameroon 3-2 in the first pool A encounter on Wednesday, kick starting the 2018 Men’s U21 AFCON in Abuja.

In a tension filled match, the Cameroonian took advantage of the lack of organization in the Nigeria team winning the first set by 26-24 points.

Despite the charge from the spectators, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon cruised to victory in the second set by 25-23 points.

The turning point for the host came in the third set as Cameroon tried to hold them as first leaders of 2 game, but Nigeria made an impressive comeback to impress the home fans in the third set winning 25-21 points.

The roar and charge pushed the host to win the fourth set by 25-16 points.

Finally it ended with an explosive performance by the Nigeria side who took the last point of the last set 15-9 points.

Meanwhile, Egypt began her title defense, beating DR Congo 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-23) in a one sided game on Wednesday night.
