FC Barcelona Femení will face OL Lyonnes in the final of the 2025/26 UEFA Women’s Champions League in Oslo after both sides came through dramatic semi-final ties against Bayern München Frauen and Arsenal Women respectively.

The final, scheduled for 23 May 2026 at Ullevaal Stadion, will mark the 25th edition of Europe’s premier women’s club competition and brings together two of the modern era’s most dominant sides.

Semi-final Review

The semi-finals delivered plenty of drama, momentum swings, and clinical finishing, with Barcelona and OL Lyonnes showing their experience and attacking quality in decisive moments.

FC Barcelona Femení vs Bayern München Frauen (5–3 agg)

In an entertaining second leg at Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona defeated Bayern 4–2 to book their place in the final after the first leg ended level.

Barcelona responded immediately after Bayern’s equaliser and maintained their attacking intensity throughout the contest before pulling away in the second half. Bayern remained competitive and managed to reduce the deficit late on, but Barcelona’s attacking quality ultimately proved decisive as they reached an unprecedented sixth consecutive UEFA Women’s Champions League final.

(Bayern scorers: Linda Dallmann 17′, Pernille Harder 71′)

Arsenal Women vs Olympique Lyonnes (4–3 agg)

A repeat of last season’s semi-final saw OL Lyonnes overturn a 2–1 first-leg deficit against Arsenal at Groupama Stadium to reach the final.

OL Lyonnes produced a commanding 3–1 victory on home soil, taking control of the tie with a dominant first-half display. Arsenal pushed for a response after the break, but Lyon’s experience in managing key moments proved decisive as the French giants booked a place in a record 12th final.

(Lyon scorers: Wendie Renard 22′ (p), Kadidiatou Diani 36′, Jule Brand 86′)

(Arsenal scorer: Alessia Russo 76′)

Both Russo and Pajor moved to nine goals for the season, while Harder took her tally to eight.

The Final

Attention now turns to Oslo, where Barcelona and OL Lyonnes will meet in their fourth UWCL final showdown.

OL Lyonnes came out on top in the 2018/19 and 2021/22 finals, while FC Barcelona Femení claimed victory in their most recent meeting in the 2023/24 final. Barcelona will be chasing a fourth UEFA Women’s Champions League crown, while OL Lyonnes aim to extend their record with a ninth European title.

Adding another layer of intrigue to the final, OL Lyonnes head coach Jonatan Giráldez will come up against his former club, where he won two Champions League titles, and his former assistant, Pere Romeu, who now leads Barcelona from the dugout.
