Dates for the next instalment of the Nigeria/Ghana rivalry have been announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), reports www.aclsports.com

The women’s national Under 17 teams of both Nigeria and Ghana will lock horns in one of the final three ties in the qualifying series of next year’s FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup (U17WWC) to be hosted by India.

In a Memo sent to its member Federations by CAF and made available to www.aclsports.com, it was revealed that both teams will first clash on the weekend of October 31st in Ghana while the return leg will hold in Nigeria three weeks later (November 20 or 21, 2020).

To get to this final stage of qualification, Nigeria’s Flamingos trounced fellow West Africans Guinea 11-2 on aggregate,; following up a 1-6 win in Conakry with a 5-1 win at the Agege Stadium in March.

On their own part, Ghana’s Black Maidens also annihilated another West African opposition in Liberia; 10-0 on aggregate with Baba Nuhu’s girls doing the damage in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The other two ties will see Uganda facing Cameroon and South Africa confronting Morocco over the same window of activities. Winners of the ties over two legs will represent Africa at the 2021 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.

The tournament will be hosted by India, starting from February 17 to March 7 next year.
