Nigeria wrestler, Blessing Oborududu is targeting her record 10th African title in the -68kg women’s category. The 2020 African Wrestling Championships will hold from 3rd to 9th February, 2020 in Algiers, Algeria.

Oborududu told www.aclsports.com that her dream has always to set a record not only on the African continent but the world in extension.

The Commonwealth champion said, “My dream and target is to win my 10th African title at the 2020 Championship in Algeria and I know by the grace of God, he will make it happen. After winning my first African title few years ago, I told God that I want to set a record to be one of the most successful women wrestlers in Nigeria and Africa as well as eventually winning a medal for my country at the Olympic.

Oborududu revealed to www.aclsports.com that when she gained admission into the university, mixing education and sports was not easy.

The captain of Nigeria women wrestling team said, “I must tell you that it was not easy during my first year engaging in sporting activities (most especially an elite athlete) and education. I would have to read for test and examinations before going into extensive training, embarking on programs and attending several international tournaments but all these became part of me as times went.

“Few weeks ago, I graduated from Niger Delta University where I studied Business Administration. I feel so excited and giving God the glory for making this possible for me; it has not been easy”.
