Super Falcons forward, Uchenna Kanu, has officially parted ways with Racing Louisville FC, following the club’s announcement of its returning and departing players for the 2026 National Women’s Soccer League season, www.aclsports.com reports.

On Friday, 26 November, Racing Louisville announced that Kanu, alongside five other players, will enter free agency and will not re-sign with the club. She joined Racing Louisville on 2 February 2023 from Tigres UANL, signing a two-year contract with an option for an additional year.

The 28-year-old made 19 appearances for Racing Louisville in 2023, starting seven, and scored her first goal for the club on 31 May against the Chicago Red Stars in the Challenge Cup. In 2024, she continued to contribute despite missing the final two months of the season with a knee injury, starting 10 of 12 appearances and netting five goals, including a record-setting brace in just six minutes against the Portland Thorns.

During Racing Louisville’s historic 2025 season, when the club earned its first-ever berth in the NWSL Playoffs and set new records for wins, Kanu made seven appearances and scored once before a knee injury sidelined her for the second half of the campaign.

In a farewell statement, Racing Louisville said:
“Part of the Racing family forever. We want to wish all our departing players the very best and thank them for their dedication and passion for the club.”

Having played in Spain, Sweden, and Mexico, supporters will be eagerly watching to see what’s next for Kanu and where her journey will take her.
