Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has extended her contract with Al-Ittihad Ladies until 2028, www.aclsports.com reports.
The 28-year-old joined Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023 after leaving WSL side Leicester City. She signed a two-year contract extension with the Saudi club in 2025 and has now agreed a new deal that will keep her at Al-Ittihad until 2028.
Plumptre’s latest season was interrupted by a left-foot injury, which forced her to miss several matches. The defender subsequently underwent surgery and remains in recovery.
Her rehabilitation has also ruled her out of the 2026 WAFCON, with Plumptre saying she needs more time before returning to action.
The defender has been an important figure for both Al-Ittihad and the Super Falcons since moving to Saudi Arabia. She was part of Nigeria’s squad that won the 2024 WAFCON.
She will now focus on completing her recovery as she begins the next chapter of her Al-Ittihad career.
