Rangers International defensive midfielder Tony Msonter Shimaga has told www.aclsports.com that his team are well prepared for their difficult away games against Rivers United and Enyimba within the next four days.

Shimaga has been a prominent figure in Gbenga Ogunbote’s squad this season and the youngster is set to play a crucial role in the side’s run-in till the end of the season. He told ACLSports on Wednesday evening that his team are ready to show their quality against United on Thursday and Enyimba on Sunday.

“We are well prepared for these two games. They are going to be very tough fixtures against good teams but we always have to show our quality every time we are called upon,” said Shimaga.

Rangers had their run of thirteen games unbeaten ended last week by Bendel Insurance but the Flying Antelopes quickly rebounded by winning the Enugu State FA Cup on Sunday with a 4-1 win over Star Plus FC. Shimaga stressed the importance of that win.

“The win brightened our mood and gave us more courage that we are progressing. You know, after such a run ended, there could be problems but the State FA Cup has helped us to bounce back to winning quickly.”

Rangers are six points clear at the top of the Group A table but Shimaga says they are not resting on their oars as the regular season heads to the home straight.

“No it’s not yet over. We’ll still be pushing to make sure we stay on top. Anything can happen and we don’t want to take things for granted,” he concluded.

The Enugu-based side will be without attackers Kelvin Itoya, Bright Silas, Ifeanyi George and long term absentee Bobby Clement for Thursday’s game against Rivers United but they have former Dolphins stars Chidiebere Okolie and Ifeanyi Egwim in their squad for the game.
