Nigeria Super Eagles made light work of Sao Tome and Principe, thrashing the visitors 6-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, to end the AFCON Qualifiers in style.

Jose Peseiro’s men booked their spot in next year’s AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire in June, but needed at least a point to secure top spot at the expense Guinea-Bissau, which they did by securing a routine win.

Napoli forward Victor Osimhen scored a hattrick, while Taiwo Awoniyi, Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman got the rest of the goals in the one sided affair.

Following the conclusion of the AFCON Qualifiers, Nigeria will now look ahead to the start of the 2026 World Qualifiers in November before the AFCON finals in January.

The fans love him. From Naples to Uyo, they sing his name so loud so the deaf can attempt hearing it 😃

Victor Osimhen is now 4th all-time for goals in Nigeria’s National Team. 20 goals in 26 games. He has, by far, the best ratio.

3 more goals to become 2nd all-time. 18 more goals to become number 1. https://t.co/Y22seKEb98

You might not like him, but he is passionate about the job and country.

Iheanacho has been brilliant in this game.

He's orchestrated everything that has happened in attack today.

Kelechi Iheanacho may not have scored today but his passes made all the difference.

Wonderful player👏🏼
