Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, provided two assists as Al Ittihad defeated Eastern Flames 3–0 in the Saudi Women’s Premier League on Friday, www.aclsports.com reports.

Plumptre, who captained the side last week and provided the assist for the winner against Al Ula, was again at the heart of the first-half action. Hala Khashoggi opened the scoring in the 19th minute before Plumptre delivered the assist for Lina Boussaha, the Algerian international who faced Plumptre’s Nigeria in the group stage of WAFCON 2024 in a 0–0 draw, to double the lead in the 27th.

Plumptre linked up with Boussaha once again to deliver Al Ittihad’s third goal in the 31st minute, giving them a commanding 3–0 lead going into halftime.

Her compatriot, Francisca Ordega came on in the 65th minute to help see out the win. The result moves Al Ittihad temporarily into second place, depending on other results.

They will next face current table-toppers Al Nassr away on Saturday, September 27; both sides have six points, but Al Nassr lead on a +4 goal difference.

Meanwhile, Nigerian stars will also be in action in Europe with the draw for the league phase of the UEFA Women’s Champions League completed. Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Jennifer Echegini’s PSG face Christy Ucheibe’s Benfica, while Rinsola Babajide and Shukurat Oladipo’s AS Roma take on Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Chelsea in challenging group-stage fixtures.
