Nigeria U23 head Coach, Salisu Yusuf, has invited Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) emerging star Kumaga Suur and 29 others to camp ahead of this month’s Africa U23 Cup of Nations final qualifying fixture against Guinea.

Suur, who plays for Lobi Stars, has been one of the revelations of the season with four goals to his name. His fine displays for the Pride of Benue has now earned him a place in the Olympic team.

Enyimba’s towering midfielder Chibuike Nwaiwu has also been called up following his excellent start to the season for Finidi George’s side.

Goalkeeper Nathaniel Nwosu misses out as he’s currently with the U20 side at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Egypt. Dakkada’s Badmus Nurudeen has now been invited instead following a string a decent performances for the Chosens in the top division.

Meanwhile, there’s a return for Remo Stars duo of Qudus Akanni and Edidiong Ezekiel, as well as Daniel Wotlai of Abia Warriors.

Nigeria, who defeated Tanzania in the second round, will host the first leg of the fixture against Guinea at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Wednesday, 22nd March.

All the players have been directed to report at the Chida Hotel, Abuja on Friday, 3rd March, ahead of the contingent’s departure to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
