The most notable absentee is D’Tigress finest, Evelyn Akhator who is set to miss out on the tournament due to injury. Sarah Ogoke was also left out by Coach Otis Hughley as D’Tigress prepare to leave their mark in Tokyo.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) recently released a provisional list of 15 players penned down by Coach Otis Hughley, to represent Nigeria at the forthcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

The team is led by Captain Adaora Elonu, veteran Aisha Balarabe also makes the cut while Victoria Macaulay returns to camp after her initial absence.

The effect of Akhator’s absence due to injury will however be cushioned by the surprise inclusion of Chiney and Nneka Ogwumike who have now followed their kid sister, Erica to switch allegiance to Nigeria after they were left out of the US Women’s roster.
