Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie, has joined Chicago Stars FC on a three-year deal, being traded from Houston Dash in the National Women’s Soccer League, www.aclsports.com reports.

Chicago Stars sent $40,000 in allocation money to Houston for Alozie, a deal that keeps her in Chicago through the 2028 NWSL season.

Alozie began her professional career with Houston Dash in 2021, initially joining as a national team replacement player before earning a full roster spot. During her rookie season, she played 114 minutes across four appearances. In 2022, she scored two goals in 10 regular-season appearances, helping Houston reach the NWSL playoffs for the first time. After a two-year contract extension, she had a breakout 2023 campaign, finishing as one of the Dash’s top scorers with four goals. Overall, Alozie has tallied seven goals and two assists in 75 regular-season appearances, including 33 starts, for Houston Dash.

Alozie, who was part of Nigeria’s squad that won WAFCON 2024, scored a stoppage-time goal against South Africa, helping her team reach the final. She earned her first call-up and goal for the Super Falcons in June 2021 and has since made 26 appearances, also featuring for Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Olympic Games.

Stars General Manager Richard Feuz highlighted Alozie’s value to the team:

“Michelle’s proven ability at both ends of the pitch, her experience, and her leadership skills will be valuable assets for our team over the next few years. We are thrilled to welcome her to Chicago as we continue building towards 2026.”

Alozie expressed her excitement about the move:

“I’m super excited to join Chicago Stars in this next journey of my career. There’s so much change happening here, and I’m looking forward to being a part of that growth, and seeing Chicago reach its full potential.”
