The Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State, will play host to the biggest showdown in Nigerian women’s football, the NWFL Super 6 Premiership. From May 8 to 17 2025, six of the best teams from the regular season will lock horns for national glory.

The regular season was lit up with drama, goals, and grit; And now the final act promises even more.

Bayelsa Queens: Unbeaten and Unshaken.
Led by the tactically sharp Coach Whyte Ogbonda, Bayelsa Queens stormed into the Super 6 unbeaten. Coach Ogbonda, who came agonizingly close to glory with Rivers Angels, now guides a disciplined and determined side. Can the Queens of the Niger Delta turn invincibility into a championship?

Edo Queens: Defending Champions with a Point to Prove
Edo Queens entered the Super 6 not only as the reigning NWFL champion but also as the recent WAFU B winners. They finished the regular season with the highest points tally, powered by a well-drilled squad and big-match experience. Will they defend their crown or be dethroned?

Naija Ratels: Draw Queens with a Late Surge
They had the most draws in the league, but Naija Ratels timed their sprint to perfection, securing enough wins to edge out Robo Queens who have the highest goals in the league . Their resilience and timing could be their secret weapon in a format where every point counts.

Nasarawa Amazons: A Team in Hot Form
Guided by the U-20 women national team coach Christopher Danjuma, the Amazons are peaking at the right time. With standout talents like Janet Akekeromowei whose heroics ended Edo Queens’ unbeaten run, they are more than ready to mount a serious title challenge.

Rivers Angels: The Serial Winners with Something to Prove
Seven-time champions Rivers Angels, return to familiar territory. With 30 goals scored, the second-highest in the league and a squad loaded with pedigree, they aim to reclaim a title they last lifted in the 2020/21 season. As the last team to successfully defend the NWFL title, they carry both legacy and expectations.

Remo Stars Ladies: The Newcomers with Firepower
Founded in the 2022, Remo Stars Ladies are the storybook underdog in their first Super 6 appearance. But they’re no pushovers. With the league’s top scorer Olamide Bolaji netting 14 goals in 14 matches and with the support of their home fans at one of Nigeria’s finest private football facility, they could spring a surprise or two.

So Let The Games Begin
With 279 goals scored in the regular season, and three of the top five scorers still in the hunt, expect fireworks in Ikenne. This Super 6 has it all; sharp tactics, attacking flair, rock-solid defences, and players hungry for the spotlight.

As the curtains rise on Nigeria’s women’s football showpiece, one thing is certain; the fight for the premiership will be fierce, fearless, and unforgettable.
