League leaders, Rivers United and Enyimba have maintained their 100% start to the new NPFL21 season after another winning outings in week 3 on Sunday.

Both teams were at their brilliant best as they came out unscathed in their respective matches in Port Harcourt and Aba.

Rivers were just too good for Kwara United, putting three goals past the helpless visitors who finished the game with nine men.

Two first half goals from new signings, Ifeanyi Anaemena and Godwin Aguda handed the Pride of Rivers a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into the break.

Things would go from bad to worse for Kwara United when they were reduced to 10 men as Afeez Nasiru was sent off for a very bad foul on Kazie Enyinnaya on 77 minutes.

And on the stroke of 90, 10 men became nine as when Kwara’s Isaq Kayode received his marching orders for handling the ball in the box.

Chika Godwin stepped up to the plate to tuck in comfortably the resultant penalty to seal a convincing  3-0 win for Stanley Eguma’s men.

Another win and clean sheet for Rivers United mean they stay top of the log on 9 points, two points ahead of Nasarawa United, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Kano Pillars.

In Aba, Enyimba made it two wins in as many matches after Nasir Yarou’s first half strike handed them a narrow 1-0  over Wikki Tourist.

The People’s Elephant moved up to 5th on the log, level on points with fourth placed Lobi Stars who thrashed Warri Wolves 3-0 in Makurdi.

Meanwhile, Akwa ibom side, Dakkada FC and Rangers International recorded the only away wins of the game week, after hard-fought 0-1 win over FC Ifeanyi Ubah in Nnewi and Jigawa Golden Stars respectively.

in Jos, Plateau United celebrated their first win of the season following a 3-0 win over Heartland.
