Midfielder Mubarak Sani was on target as Katsina United beat Enyimba of Aba 4-2 in Friday’s NPFL matchday eight fixture in Katsina, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Changi Boys, who entered the contest seeking their first win in three league games, took the lead early on after an own goal from Emeka Onyema when his back pass went under the foot of goalkeeper Dede Dare. Just six minutes later, the hosts doubled their lead with a fine goal from Mubarak Sani.
The home side were largely in control, and they went into the break with a two-goal cushion.
At the hour mark, Luis Dadong made it 3-0 to the hosts, but Chidera Michael grabbed his first goal of the season seven minutes later to pull one back for the Aba side. 15 minutes from time, Charles Egbe scored for Enyimba once again to set up a grand finish to the game.
However, Umar Rabiu produced a fine solo run to put the game beyond Enyimba by scoring in the 80th minute of the contest. The result left Enyimba without a point on the road, while Katsina United won at home for the first time since the last draw against Rivers United.
Katsina United are up to sixth on the log, while Enyimba remain in 17th spot ahead of the remaining games of the weekend.
