NPFL side Kano Pillars have announced the signing of some key players ahead of the new season, www.aclsports.com reports. The Kano club managed to beat the drop on the final day, but they have been undergoing a rebuild ahead of the 2026/27 season.
After the appointment of Daniel Ogunmodede as the clubβs new head coach, Sai Masu Gida have started unveiling some of the new players that will be flying their colours in the Nigerian topflight in the coming weeks.
Goalkeeper Joke Efevwerha and defender Tejiri Emonena have arrived from Warri Wolves, while midfielder Zayyad Musa, having led Elkanemi Warriors to the Federation Cup triumph, has signed a two-year-deal with the Kano side. Shola Abdulraheem has also joined Sai Masu Gida from Kwara United on a two-year deal.
Another goalkeeper, Abdallah Sulaiman from Katsina United, and left-back Felix Oloye from Niger Tornadoes have also joined Ogunmodedeβs team in Kano, while left-footed centre-back Tarabina Biweribo has completed his move to the Pyramid City after the expiration of his contract at Plateau United.
With the new 2026/27 season about a month away, it is expected that Kano Pillars will make further signings as they aim to improve on their 15th-place finish last term.
