Midfielder Austin Onyemaechi has revealed his desire to end the 2022/23 season on a high note by winning the Federation Cup title with Rangers International, www.aclsports.com reports.

The 2023 Federation Cup final has been scheduled to hold at the Stephen Okechukwu Keshi Stadium, Asaba, on Thursday, June 15 between Rangers and Bendel Insurance.

Onyemaechi, who has been in stellar form this campaign, made his intentions known while speaking to his club’s media ahead of the cup final next week.

“No doubt, Insurance is a great side and has been in fine form since the start of the season,” began the talented midfielder.

“But we have our work cut out for us and that is to be crowned champions of the oldest club competition in the country for the 7th time in thirteen attempts. Motivation from management coupled with self-motivation from every player in the team as well as the determination to write our names in the sands of time shall propel us to get our targets right in the final match.

Meanwhile, Rangers have been inactive since beating Plateau United in the semis in Ijebu Ode about a week ago, while Insurance have been active featuring at the NPFL Championship Playoffs in Lagos.

Next week’s final will be the second time that the Flying Antelopes will be featuring since the historic comeback win over Kano Pillars five years ago at this same venue.
