The NPFL, in a series of judgments, have decided to sanction Rangers International and Nasarawa United for the behaviour of fans and officials in recent league games, www.aclsports.com reports.

League leaders Rangers and the continental-chasing Solid Miners were sanctioned for breaching the NPFL Framework Rules during their respective home games last Sunday.

Rangers, who hosted Barau FC at the Cathedral in Enugu, failed to provide adequate & effective security in the match, which resulted in unauthorised persons gaining access to restricted areas.

In addition, the club’s officials also exhibited the capability of bringing the game into disrepute. Rangers further failed to ensure the proper conduct of their supporters, which led to the harassment of the match officials,” said a statement from the league body on Friday.

The Enugu club were fined 4m naira and ordered to play the remaining two home games of the current campaign behind closed doors.

In a similar sanction, Nasarawa United have been charged for breaching the NPFL Framework & Rules in their home match vs Kun Khalifat FC on April 5, 2026, at the Lafia City Stadium.

Nasarawa United also failed to provide adequate & effective security in the match, which resulted in unauthorized persons gaining access to restricted areas. The Solid Miners were also fined 3m naira and will now play their last 2 home matches of the season behind closed doors.

The two clubs have 48 hours from the date of notice of sanctions to appeal.
