Remo Stars’ new technical adviser, Usman Abd’Allah, was pleased with his first three points in his maiden outing with the defending champions on Sunday, www.aclsports.com reports.
The Sky Blue Stars defeated Katsina United 2-0 courtesy of goals from Haruna Hadi for their first win in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) since Match Day 20. The win helped the Ikenne side reach the 30-point mark, and it was Abd’Allah’s first game since the club announced his appointment.
”We got the three points, but there is nothing for us to be excited about. This is just the beginning,” Usman Abd’Allah said after the game.
”I think these three points will go a long way. The most important thing to start thinking of is the next away game. Our focus is to win – take it one game at a time.
The former Enyimba handler went ahead to speak about his philosophy going forward, as the defending champions aim to beat the drop at the end of the season.
”We anticipated that the goals might come from the attackers and the other guys in the middle. I would have loved to see more of the wing play, the speed at the wing. This is something we are going to work on because we played too much in the middle.
”When we are playing in the middle, there is a possibility of losing the balls, and defending (transition to defense) is very difficult. In the coming week, we will resume and start working from there,” the Kano-born tactician concluded.
Remo Stars will travel to Enugu to face league leaders Rangers International in their next NPFL fixture next Sunday.
