Nigerian players once again made their presence felt across the weekend’s action, with Christy Ucheibe winning her sixth consecutive league title, Jennifer Echegini scoring, and Chioma Okafor making her professional debut in the United States, www.aclsports.com reports.

Christy Ucheibe played her part in Portugal on Saturday as Benfica Feminino secured the 2025/26 Campeonato Nacional Feminino (Liga BPI) title with a 3–1 victory over SC Braga. The result sealed a sixth consecutive league crown for Benfica, extending their unbeaten league run this season to 16 matches with two still to play, and marking another milestone in Ucheibe’s remarkable spell with the club.

🏆 O Benfica conquistou o seu 6.º campeonato. Seis jogadoras estiveram presentes em todos: Carole Costa, Christy Ucheibe, Lúcia Alves, Catarina Amado, Pauleta e Nycole Raysla.

Jennifer Echegini scored the opening goal in Paris Saint-Germain Féminine’s 2–0 away win over FC Fleury 91 in the Arkema Première Ligue in France. Her 80th-minute long-range strike came after Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade came off the bench to provide the assist, before Sakina Karchaoui added the second goal minutes later. It was Echegini’s third league goal of the season, taking her to seven goal contributions, while Ajibade registered her third league contribution of the campaign.

In England, Chiamaka Nnadozie made four crucial saves as Brighton & Hove Albion Women edged league leaders Manchester City Women 3–2 in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The Nigerian goalkeeper’s performance helped her side secure their first win over a top-four opponent this season.

The standout moment in the United States came for Chioma Okafor, who made her professional debut for North Carolina Courage in their 1–0 win over Houston Dash. The Super Falcons forward entered in the 62nd minute, marking her first appearance since signing a three-year deal after a standout college career with the University of Connecticut Huskies. She described the move in an interview as “surreal and deeply rewarding,” reflecting on her journey from college football to the professional stage.

Elsewhere in the NWSL, Michelle Alozie started for Chicago Stars FC in a 2–0 victory against Boston Legacy FC. Gift Monday came off the bench as Washington Spirit recorded a 4–0 win over Kansas City Current, while Nicole Payne returned to the matchday squad for Orlando Pride for the first time since signing after recovering from injury, but remained an unused substitute.

In Italy, Shukurat Oladipo featured as AS Roma Women claimed a narrow 1–0 away win over Juventus Women, contributing to a clean sheet in a tightly contested Serie A Femminile clash. Rinsola Oladipo was named among the substitutes but did not feature.
