Nigerian players abroad made their mark over the weekend, with Asisat Oshoala and Christy Ucheibe on target for Al-Hilal, while Kafayat Bashiru hit a hat-trick for Kayseri Kadın FK, www.aclsports.com reports.
Six-time African Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala found the net twice and provided an assist as Al-Hilal defeated Al-Taraji 6–0 in the Saudi Women’s Premier League. Christy Ucheibe opened the scoring in the fifth minute to register her first goal for the club and also provided an assist, while Oshoala struck in the 65th and 77th minutes before setting up another goal.
Oshoala now has four goals and six assists from three league appearances, taking her to 10 goal contributions this season.
In Turkey, Kafayat Bashiru hit a hat-trick as Kayseri Kadın FK defeated Şile Bilgidoğa 7–0 in the Turkish Women’s Super League. The Kayseri captain found the net in the 39th, 45+5th and 77th minutes, while her compatriot Hembafan Roselina Ayatsea also scored twice.
Joy Omewa scored her first goal for BK Häcken on her first start as they defeated IFK Norrköping 6–0 in the OBOS Damallsvenskan. The Super Falcons forward opened the scoring with a header in the 19th minute.
Meanwhile, Chinwendu Ihezuo provided an assist as Pachuca defeated Santos Laguna 4–1 in the Liga MX Femenil. Ihezuo set up Nina Nicosia for Pachuca’s second goal as the Mexican side secured a convincing victory.
