Kano Pillars, Borno Spiders, Seasiders Babes and Plateau Peacocks have commended Oil and and Gas company Prudent Energy and Services Limited and the President of Handball Federation of Nigeria, Sam Ocheho for Palliatives given to 22 club sides in the country.

The sponsor of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League approved the sum of N5.5 million as palliatives to be shared among players of the Premier league which amounts to N250k to each team in the league.

The head coach of Kano Pillars Handball Club, Solomon Yola told www.aclsports.com that the palliative came at a time when some of the players had no money to fend for themselves.

Yola said the palliative will help cushion the economic effect of the Corona Virus pandemic that the players are facing.

The ex international said, “I must confess that the palliative came at the right. Due to the COVID-19, some players who do not have other source of income have been affected badly by the pandemic and lockdown.

“The palliative will help some of the players especially our Muslim faithful observe the Ramadan period buy foodstuff”.

The coordinator of Borno State Handball Association, Yusuf Mustapha commended the Handball Federation of Nigeria led by Sam Ocheho for making the palliative possible through Prudent Energy.

Mustapha said, “Without any sponsor of the Handball League, players would not have been able to access the palliative. This is the major reason why the players, coaches and manager must commend Sam Ocheho for his foresight”.

The coach of Seasiders Babe, Olubukola Duru and Plateau Peacocks, Yusuf Abdulkadir both thanked the sponsor of the league for remembering the players at this difficult time.
