Kano Pillars and Safety Babes top the table at the first phase of the 2019 Prudent Energy Handball League after 11 matches in Abuja.

Kano Pillars won 10 games and lost one to De Defenders, while Safety Babes won 8 matches and lost one after the end of the league during the weekend.

The head coach of Kano Pillars, Solomon Yola told www.aclsports.com that his players determination coupled with the Technical Crew gave him the much needed results at the league.

Yola revealed that the only match he lost was due to fatigue.

The ex international stated that the signing of his former players also contributed to Kano Pillars fine performance.

Yola said, “The results you see at the end of the first phase shows that Kano Pillars has come to stay. The players played a critical role because they listened to the instructions of the technical crew who noticed their lapses on and off the game.

“If you noticed, some of the players like Kingsley Okubuike and Jacob Ayuba did not play last season in Lagos. We had to properly sign them and they have contributed meaningful to the success of the team too”.

Meanwhile, the chief coach of Safety Babes, Bala Mohammed said his girls will continue and even improve on their fine form when the second phase resumes in Lagos.
