The coach of Nigeria U20 handball team, Agboola Shittu has promised not to let Nigerians down at this month’s IHF Challenge trophy in Kosovo.

The former Lagos state handball coach told www.aclsports.com the junior team will give other countries a good fight.

He said, “Personally, I will love to be prudent with my expectations but what I will say is that we are assuring Nigerians of good representations because other continental champions are coming there to fight for glory. But surely, we are going to give quality play there.

“I want to assure those that have confidence in this team that we are not going to disappoint them; we are going to fight because it is our signature and make sure we bring glory back to Nigeria for those who have invested heavily in the team”.

On the preparations of the team, the 2003 All Africa Games bronze medallist said, “We have been preparing in earnest and putting all tactics together. The camp is already two weeks old and the team is doing well.

“If you look critically at this team, we did not start today. We have been evolving gradually, bringing in the best, removing others, reshuffling and trying as much as possible to make sure that every good player within that age frame are able to fit in into the team. So, we really gave opportunities to everybody”.
