The Handball Federation of Nigeria has named James Kuti, Hakeem Salami, Farouk Yusuf, Obinna Okwor and 21 others to prepare for the 16th Male Africa Youth Championship in Morocco.

The African Youth Championship will take place from 16th to 21st March, 2021 in Agadir, Morocco.

According to the Secretary General of Handball Federation of Nigeria, Mallam Haruna Maigidansama said the players are currently camped at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment in Abuja.

Mallam Haruna Maigidansama told www.aclsports.com that coach Emeka Nnamani who finished second at the IHF Challenge Trophy in Kosovo will handle the team while Nasarawa coach, Sabo Oji is the assistant coach in camp.

He said, “We have resumed camp for the Africa Youth Championship and 25 players are training hard. Former COAS Shooters coach, Emeka Nnamani and Sabo Oji will handle the players throughout their stay in camp”.

“Some of the players invited to camp participated at the 2019 National U18 Handball Championship in Lagos. This means we are making progress as a federation and I know that more players will be discovered this year”, he added.

The National Cadet Male Handball team won bronze at the 14th edition of the youth continental Championship organised by the Confederation of Africa Handball (CAHB) held in Marrakech, Morocco in 2018.

Oluwagbenga Ojo, Hakeem Salami, Faruk Yusuf, Obinna Okwor, Yahaya Ismaila, Yazid Kasim, Ajibike Kereem, James Kuti, Chukwuka Michael, Kehinde Abdulgafar, Oluwaseun Adeniji, Adeleke Segun, Mustapha Mohammed, Bello Salisu, Akinlade Emmanuel, Bello Abubakar, Saheed Shittu, Maniru Dahiru, Solomon Lucky, Abdulwahab Yusuf, Chibuzor Nwodo, Shagari John, Solomon Paul, Wasiu Ahmed and Tahir Lawal.
