Head coach Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Shooters, Emeka Nnamani believe his players are ready for the first phase of the second edition of the Prudent Energy Handball League in Abuja.

Nnamani insisted that they his team has corrected some lapses from last season.

He said, “We are well prepared for the first phase of the league and motivated by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai through the director Army physical training, Brigadier General Ola Olatoye.

“This time around, all the technical errors observed last season have been corrected. It got to a time where we were referred to as king of draws.

“The reason for such performance was because I was not with the team during the last phase of the league due to National assignment that took me Morocco for world cup qualifier. This time around the performance of my team will be better than our last outing God willing”.

The ex international told www.aclsports.com  that he intends to sign five new players adding that the league will be more tactical.

He said, “All the teams coming to the league are almost having the same strength. But what makes the difference is preparation, technical and tactical disciplined of each teams.

“The league is going to be more tactical and not more of physical. If things work out, we intend signing five new players including a U20 right back from Ogun state”.

Commenting on the IHF Challenge trophy success, Nnamani said, “Well, I feel very happy and thankful to almighty God for making me come second in my first assignment as national coach; the players did not disappoint me. The secret behind the success is discipline and we achieved wonderful results in Kosovo”.

The first phase of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League will hold in Abuja from the 13th to 25th May, 2019.
