“From the 3rd week of June towards the last week of July, we are going to have a national coaching clinic in Lagos and the senior female team will be in camp for two weeks. This is to brush them up and to see the quality of players we possess now.

“The referees at some point before the end of the year will get engaged. We are currently in talks with the International Handball Federation (IHF) to help develop our coaches. This is something we have in our horizon and we’ll continue to pursue it”, Ocheho said.

He stressed that the number of kids playing handball in Lagos has increased geometrically.

“We’ll keep trying to get more people into handball. I think Lagos is already taking a lead in that because we have so many kids playing handball in the state. I guess this will keep happening all across the country in as much as we encourage them”, he said.
