Handball Federation of Nigeria rolls out 2020 activities

In a statement obtained by www.aclsports.com, the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) will begin the year with its participation in the CAHB Africa Nations Cup which will hold from 16th to 26th January, 2020 in Tunisia and serves as Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifier.

The team will be led by Salami Rafiu of Issy Handball club, France with Solomon Yola Martins of Kano Pillars and Segun Tunji of Niger United. The International Handball Federation seconded Yerima Sylla to assist in the technical department.

The Federation will host a National U12 and U15 Championship in Sokoto by February followed by the first phase of the 2020 Prudent Energy Handball League in May.

The country will witness the Samuel Ocheho Invitational International Tournament and a whole lots of grass root tournaments. The national teams will also participate in different international competitions such as the IHF International Challenge Trophy as well the Zone 2 and 3 Africa Tournament.

The national women national team will participate in the 16th Africa Women Cup of Nation from 24th August to 3rd September, 2020 while a selected youth side will participate in the Granoller Cup which will hold in Sweden around August.

The second phase of the 2020 Prudent Energy Handball League in October in Lagos, then the national handball division one league will hold in November.
