The head coach of Niger United HC, Yekini Adebayo has vowed to win all his matches at the 1st phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2024 in Benin, Edo state starting on May 12th.

Niger United won the men’s title at the 2023 Ardova Handball Premier League in Lagos.

Yekini told www.aclsports.com that the team is finalizing preparations for the 1st phase adding that replacements have been made for few players who got signed by other teams.

He said, “Niger United HC is a team that believes in actions more than words. The technical crew is working tirelessly on how to secure a total of 11 wins in the first phase of the league. Last season, we took most of the teams by surprise with our performances; in fact, my team almost beat former champions Kano Pillars but were lucky to end up with a draw.

“We are in the final stages of our preparations and the players are in top form. Every training session is taken with high level of seriousness which will be translated to game play during the league. Niger United is a team that believes in building processes and I want to inform you that we have gotten replacements for some of our players that got better offers in other clubs.

“Niger United will never stop any player from joining other clubs because we believe in growth. Some of our players in the past have gone ahead to secure foreign which is a sign that we are doing something right”.

The former Niger United player revealed that his side will not underrate any team in the first phase.

He said, “I have cautioned my players not to take any match for granted because every team wants to beat the champion. We have a lot to lose while other teams want to dethrone us as quickly as possible. Niger United has won the title twice since the league got revived under Sam Ocheho as President; we want to win it for the third time.”
