Enyimba FC head coach Finidi George says his team’s Match Day 15 encounter against Remo Stars this weekend could be a decider for both side’s Super Six aspirations.

Finidi led his side to a 2-1 victory over Kwara United in Akure on Sunday, their third away win of the campaign. The result also returned the People’s Elephant to second on the log, renewing their hopes for the season-ending Super Six.

In a chat to the club’s website, Finidi spoke of what he told his players before Sunday’s win and expects the win to put them in right stead for Sunday’s visit of Remo Stars.

“I told the players that the games against Kwara United and Remo Stars are vital and we’ve won the first but we will not relent.

“Playing at home is a different challenge but winning in Akure has given us that boost to go back home and prepare very well to face Remo Stars,” said Finidi to enyimbafc.net

Enyimba have a total of 24 points from fourteen matches to sit second in Group A, four points behind leaders Bendel Insurance and one point above third place Akwa United.

"I told the players that this game and the next one are vital and we have won this one. So, we will not relent."

Finidi knows that a win over Remo Stars who defeated Enyimba 1-0 in the reverse fixture will take them to within touching distance of a top three finish. But wins against Remo Stars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) is not always easy to come by.

“It is not going to be easy but if we can win that match, I will say it can be the decider for us to move forward,” stressed the Super Eagles legend.

Enyimba vs Remo Stars is slated for 3pm local on Sunday at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba. The game will see a return to Aba for former Enyimba defender Ifeanyi Anaemena who joined Remo Stars in mid-season.
