EXCLUSIVE – World Championship: Ondo wrestlers land in Bayelsa

Ahead of the World Wrestling Championships, four Ondo wrestlers have arrived Bayelsa for a close camping exercise.

The team consists of three African Champions, Odunayo Adekuoroye (55kg), Aminat Adeniyi (58kg), John Emmanuel (60kg), and Silver medalist, Bisola Makanjuola (60kg).

ACLSports.com gathered this information on the social media page of the female head coach of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Purity Akuh on Tuesday evening.

He wrote on his Facebook page: “camping in Bayelsa #world wrestling championships Paris 2017 loading.”

The world championship is scheduled for Paris, France from August 21th to 26th, 2017.

ACLSports.com can confirm that other wrestlers will join the Ondo wrestlers on Thursday at the Den Gymnasium in Yenagoa, Bayelsa.

ACLSports.com can also confirm that the President Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Hon Daniel Igali is doing everything possible in ensuring the country is not missing at the event.

Despite Nigeria not appearing in any international competition asides the Africa Championship, 2014 Commonwealth games Champion, Adekuoroye was ranked second in the 55kg female category.
