2023/2024 NWFL Premiership champions, Edo Queens FC, have completed the signing of Ghanaian international goalkeeper Adjei Charlotte, www.aclsports.com reports.

The official unveiling took place in Benin City with key dignitaries in attendance, including the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, and the General Manager of Edo Queens, Mr. Rollanson Odeh.

Hon. Enabulele described the signing as a statement of intent for the club:

“We are pleased to welcome Adjei Charlotte to Edo Queens. Her experience and talent will undoubtedly add value to our team as we aim for greater success in the league and on the continental stage.”

Charlotte joins Edo Queens following an outstanding 2024/25 NWFL Premiership season with Remo Stars Ladies, where she was named Best Goalkeeper of the Season. The Ghanaian keeper recorded 10 clean sheets in 19 matches, earning a ₦200,000 cash prize from the Judith Chime Foundation in recognition of her performances.

Before her impressive run with Remo Stars Ladies, Charlotte Adjei played for Nigerian giants Rivers Angels and Ghanaian powerhouse Ampem Darkoa, gaining valuable experience in top-flight women’s football across West Africa.

Edo Queens GM Rollanson Odeh emphasized the club’s goal to build a title-contending team:

“This signing is in line with our mission to challenge for trophies and build a formidable team. We believe Charlotte brings the quality and professionalism we need as we push for silverware.”

Charlotte’s signing is yet another marker of Edo Queens’ ambition, not only to dominate domestically, but also to establish a strong presence on the continental stage in the years to come.

With preseason already underway, all eyes will be on the Ghanaian star as she dons the gloves for her new club in the coming campaign.
