As the world continues to come to terms with the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic, Nigerian National League (NNL) side Vandrezzer FC have suspended the contracts of their entire playing personnel, against their wishes.
www.aclsports.com scooped that the players have been served a letter to that effect, dated March 31, 2020.
The club hinged their unilateral decision on hardships occasioned by the Coronavirus situation as well as the long-term inactivity of the NNL.
One of the players who spoke with www.aclsports.com said:
“The management suspended our contracts because of covid19 without consulting us. And they are now asking us to acknowledge the receipt of the suspension.”
The player who posits that “things are not as they seem” at the flamboyant club expressed his displeasure in the management’s inhumane gesture towards laying off the players albeit temporarily.
The players are reportedly refusing to acknowledge the receipt of the letters sending them on compulsory suspension.
www.aclsports.com‘s checks in Uyo reveal that there are no players left in the club’s camp in the state capital as they had proceeded on break since the ending of last month.
Vandrezzer FC are a club owned by energy services limited, Vandrezzer and they have received rave reviews in the media until this recent development.
