The Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi urged the women’s basketball team continue with their winning streak in the Zenith Basketball League.

Adeniyi gave the advice while speaking with the team on Saturday in a pep talk ahead of their second phase of the Zenith Bank Basketball League in Lafia, Nasarawa state between 18th to 24th September.

He told the players to play with all their heart and give every available point in the basketball league.

Adeniyi said, “I am truly impressed with the progress of the basketball team and I have no doubt that you will make the service proud. You were unbeaten in the Savannah Conference in Jos and you have come to a point where they cannot afford to make any mistakes.

“You have been winning, I know you have the capacity to deal with every opposition and emerge champions once more.”

He stated that the “Nigeria Customs Service is supporting you, and I say thank you to all the technical crew and the players. Please keep doing the service proud.”

In August, Nigeria Customs ladies edged out all opponents in the Savannah Conference in Jos.

After their opening day 73-32 victory over Kada Angels, Customs in a crucial Match Day 2 fixture, defeated defending Champions Air Warriors 64-48 and went ahead to ruthlessly beat Nigeria Army 78-32.

They also defeated Nasarawa Amazons 60-41 on Match Day four.
