The active sessions of the fifth CAVB Coaches’ High Performance seminar began with great interaction from all the participating coaches at Kenya Commercial Bank Leadership Centre, in Nairobi, Kenya.

CAVB Vice-President Waithaka Kioni who is also Kenya VB Federation President and the supervisor of the coach is following up all the facilities to bring the course to full success.

The seminar is attended by top coaches from Africa and beyond, as well as top local coaches; Nigeria is represented by the U19 coaches, Sani Mohammed and Adeniyi Adekalu.

The seminar is held as part of the confederation’s project to provide the continent’s top coaches with information about the most recent trends in the sport.

The seminar is an opportunity to share the latest coaching methodologies and systems as well as contemporary approaches to optimising performances at high level competitions. It will also serve as a networking platform for the top coaches in the continent.

FIVB Instructors Mauro Berutto from Italy and Sheriff El Shermely from Egypt run the second day action which involve both theoretical and practical aspect of the game as they seek to familiarise the coaches with the latest coaching skills that can be applied going forward.

The seminar comes at an opportune time as some of the top Kenyan teams that include, Prisons Kenya (Men and Women) GSU (men) Kenya Pipeline (women) and KCB (women) prepare themselves for the forthcoming Africa club championships due to take place in Egypt.
