Bayelsa United head coach Diepreye Telbowei says his team may engage a different tactical plan when they face CS Sfaxien of Tunisia this weekend in Sfax.
Nigerian second division side United beat the highly rated Tunisians 1-0 in their first leg, first round clash at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa on Sunday, leaving them with a somewhat mountain to climb in the return leg.
Telbowei wasn’t quite sure of what he felt after the game based on his expectations.
“I will not say I am disappointed (with the result) but it was not my expectation,” Telbowei told www.aclsports.com
“We were playing against an experienced side, my expectation was at least we are able to win with a wide margin and going back to Tunisia will be a formality.
“But for the fact that we’ve won 1-0, I must appreciate the players for their efforts and I’m happy that we won.
“They (Sfaxien) are a very good side so for us to be able to overpower them by a lone goal, I think I’m very happy. We will take this positive result, go to Tunisia and come back with victory,” added the former Green Eagles star.

United will now take their slender advantage to Tunisia on Saturday with the winner over both legs entering into the playoff round of the Confederation Cup.
Towards the end of Sunday’s game in Yenagoa, United had a couple of their reliable Stars including defender Gabriel Biriduba and attackers Victory Beniangba and Emo James substituted due to varying knocks.
Telbowei is unfazed though and hints that he might have a tactical alteration in terms of their approach to the game.
“Going back to Tunisia, we might play a different formation because all we need is a draw so we might not play the same formation we did today depending on the availability of players we have.
“But I want to tell Nigerians that going to Sfax, nobody should panic. We are going there to play them the way they played us here,” a bullish Computer (as he is fondly called) stated.
The second leg game will hold at Stade Taïeb Mhri in Sfax on Saturday.
