Coach of the Kwara State Badminton Team, Kayode Mope has successfully earned the prestigious Badminton World Federation (BWF) Level 1 coaching certificate.

Speaking with www.aclsports.com, Mope expressed that the new knowledge gained will have a significant impact on his players in the state.

The former international player also highlighted the programs he has initiated to identify young badminton talents who could represent the state at the National Youth Games and other junior championships.

“I feel so great achieving the BWF Level 1 Certificate. The new knowledge acquired will be greatly imparted on my players,” Mope shared.

Mope declared his intentions to organise training programs for Games Masters/ Mistresses in the state.

He said, “I have developed programs such as training Game Masters/Mistresses in both Primary and Secondary Schools to discover new talents who will represent both the state and the country. I’m also organizing various championships for primary and secondary school students.”

Beyond his work with the youth, Mope offered valuable advice to athletes of all levels.

“My advice to both elite and upcoming athletes is to stay disciplined and committed to their badminton careers. They can be rest assured that they have competent hands in the Technical Department.”

With years of experience in both playing and coaching, Mope is confident in his ability to handle even the highest coaching responsibilities.

“With my wealth of experience, I have all it takes to handle the National Team,” he concluded.

13 coaches including 4 female participated in the BWF Level 1 coaching course held in Abuja last December 2024.
