Ahead of a crucial semi-final match against Cameroon at the ongoing Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana, Super Falcons midfielder Ngozi Okobi has revealed that the team can’t wait to defeat the Indomitable Lionesses like they’ve done previously.

“It’s not going to be easy but as a player I’m fully prepared,” the Sweden based midfielder said while speaking to ACLSports during an interview.

“I love games like this because they don’t understand my kind of football. The kind of person I am I play very physical and tough football and I like it because that’s where I show the best of my abilities.”

Okobi added that although the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon are somewhat tired of losing to Nigeria and would want to turn the tide this time, the Falcons don’t care about that as it is business as usual for them. “I and my team mates are so prepared and we can’t wait to beat Cameroon.

“I know they won’t want it to happen again because Nigeria has been beating them and they’ve been motivated in so many ways but we don’t care. We love football and I think the girls I have in camp are so motivated on their own to do something great on Tuesday.”

The match kicks off 4:30pm Nigerian time at the Accra Sports Stadium as whoever emerges winner automatically qualifies for the World Cup in France next year.
