Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has taken to social media to reveal the message passed across to him by manager Jose Mourinho in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.
With the Red Devils leading 2-1 with the game heading into its final ten minutes, Mourinho sent on Ivorian defender Eric Bailly in place of attacker Alexis Sanchez to shore up his defence for the closing stages.
The former Chelsea boss also sent an accompanying note which Bailly delivered to the towering Serbian midfielder. Television footage showed Matic’s former Chelsea teammate, Willian attempting to peep at the message from Mourinho.

The 29-year old however took to his Instagram account on Monday to reveal the content of the message sent to him by Mourinho on the pitch.
It read: “You have three days off. ✅” in what looked like a managerial approval of Matic’s performance in the tactical structure of Mourinho in Sunday’s game.
The midfielder was voted the second best Manchester United player in the game, behind striker Romelu Lukaku in a poll conducted by the club’s official Twitter account: @ManUtd.
Sunday’s victory took United back to second position on the Premier League log after Liverpool temporarily leapfrogged them twenty four hours earlier.
