World record holder Tobi Amusan, clocked 12.25s to finish third in a blistering women’s 100m hurdles final at the Silesia Diamond League in Chorzów, Poland on Saturday, www.aclsports.com reports.

Amusan narrowly made the final after finishing 4th in her heat in 12.48s, but she improved in the final, producing her third-fastest time in history. Her 12.25s run marks her second 12.2s race this season and her third overall, despite registering the slowest reaction time in the final.

The event was stacked with talent, and Amusan held her own, proving once again that she’s always in the mix when the barriers come down. Olympic Champion Masai Russell (USA) stormed to victory with a Diamond League record of 12.19s, while her compatriot Tonea Marshall, ran a stunning personal best of 12.24s to claim second.

This final went down as one of the fastest women’s 100m hurdles races ever on the Diamond League circuit.

With Amusan’s consistency building, the Nigerian is poised for even bigger performances in the races ahead. Silesia may have seen her finish third, but her momentum is unmistakable.
