Nigerian sprinter, Seye Ogunlewe called on Nigerians to supports her athletes when the African Athletics Championships kicks off today in Asaba, Delta.

Ogunlewe made the call via his twitter handle @seyeogunlewe before the start of the championships.

Ogunlewe who placed fourth after recording a personal best time of 10.19 secs at the 2018 Commonwealth Games believes that the presence of his fellow countrymen can motivate the nation’s athletes.

He wrote, “Please come out and support us at the 21st Afircan Senior Athletics Championships from the 1st to 5th of August, 2018 in Asaba, Delta state”.

“I appeal to Nigerians in Delta to come out and cheer all Nigerian athletes to victory, this is our country and the athletes must be at home against other visiting athletes.”

The three time national champion will be contending for a medal in the men’s 100 meters.
