Asaba 2018: Memories of the C/Games relay propelled me – Arowolo

Nigeria’s men 4x100m silver medallist, Emmanuel Arowolo said the sad memories of the 4×100 relay event at the Commonwealth Games propelled him at the ongoing 2018 African Senior Athletics Championships in Asaba.

The team of Seye Ogunlewe, Divine Oduduru, Egwero Ogho-Oghene and Emmanuel Arowolo ran in 38.74 seconds to win a silver medal.

He attributed the success recorded to team work as well as determination of other athletes on the track.

“I had to put in my best because I had a lot going on inside of me concerning this relay due to what happened at the commonwealth games. I feel great coming here and giving my best to the team and I want to appreciate God for this opportunity to correct the error” he said https://aclsports.com/11529-2/

“As you saw on the track, it’s all about team work and I really appreciate the effort of all the team like Itsekiri, Enoch, Raymond and everybody because they all put up a great work into this team and I think we are reaping the reward”.

The graduate of Industrial Mathematics at the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) said he’ll have to return to training after the Championships to better his Personal Best (PB).

“After the African Athletics Championships, I’ll return to my training camp, run good times, go international and probably win international tournaments more than the African Champs medal but to go for tournaments outside the shores of Africa and most importantly the Olympics”.
