Super Falcons defender, Michelle Alozie has been shortlisted for the 2025 FIFPRO Women’s World XI, www.aclsports.com reports.

Alozie, who shone for Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and continues to impress with Houston Dash in the National Women’s Soccer League, joins a star-studded list of global talents vying for a place in the prestigious team selected by players worldwide.

According to FIFPRO, the 26 players on the shortlist earned the highest number of votes from fellow professionals based on their performances between August 11, 2024, and August 3, 2025.

The recognition follows Alozie’s exceptional performances for both club and country. She played a key role in Nigeria’s WAFCON campaign, notably scoring the decisive goal in the Super Falcons’ semi-final victory over South Africa’s Banyana Banyana. The 28-year-old was also named in the Team of the Tournament for her consistent and commanding displays throughout the competition.

Alozie is one of seven defenders shortlisted for the World XI, alongside Lucy Bronze, Millie Bright, and Alex Greenwood (England), Olga Carmona and Ona Batlle (Spain), and Ellie Carpenter (Australia).

Her inclusion highlights her growing reputation as one of Africa’s most dynamic and dependable full-backs.
